Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

Monday Musings NATURE PRACTICE: “Facing the Sun”

TEALarbor stories’ Monday Musings are quotes, poems, & practices offering simple ways to explore the ecotone of the inner/outer landscape.

Take a few moments to stand outside in the direct sunlight. Lift your face, close your eyes, and quiet your mind. Feel how the sun kisses your nose, blankets your cheeks, brushes your eyelids, caresses your chin. Notice the intensity of the heat, the brightness, the color that shifts behind your unseeing eyes. Sunflowers also turn their beautiful faces to the warm light; consider how you are rooted, standing tall, facing a source of nourishment.
