Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

"Don't Miss What's Happening Right Now"     Aug 4, 2015     Northern CA Sunset
Absolutely true story:
After a refreshing dinner outside watching the beautiful dancing trees in the breeze last night, I inexplicably found myself back in the
dark, stale, indoor confines of my office browsing through social media on my phone. Not paying attention to anything but the tiny screen, I was thinking about an online reminder that the August meteor showers will soon be visible; I made a mental note to observe the nighttime sky on those dates. As I got up to leave my office, a bright flash in my peripheral vision caught my attention. I turned around, looked up and out at the world as it was unfolding in stunning tangibility outside the window; it took my breath away.
I ran outside to return its greeting.

This is what I experienced.
