Spend time
in a natural outdoor area. Notice what’s on the ground. Identify one or two
natural items that have fallen there, that do not belong to anybody, that are
not rooted or still growing/alive, and that would not cause harm to nature or
others if removed. (Be sure to heed any posted rules about collection of
natural objects). Choose the items carefully, out of love and respect. …leaves, cones, flower petals, twigs, loose
lichen, pebbles, sand, dirt, seeds… Ask the place if it’s okay to take
these objects. If you hear the quiet voice offering its permission, gently
gather them and return home. Place nature’s gifts in a special location – on a
shelf, an altar, a sill, a table – and pay homage to them in whatever way feels
comfortable to you. At the very least, look at them daily and nurture gratitude
for nature’s offerings. All blog images created & photographed by Jennifer J. Wilhoit unless otherwise noted. Please circulate images with photo credit: "©2015 JenniferJWilhoit/TEALarbor stories. AllRightsReserved."
