There once was a
lass lived in Awe,
Whose passion
for Earth was so raw.
She roam’d
beaches and woods;
Sought their
bounty of goods.
Her pockets
filled up with –
...spider webs
a dragonfly
leaves
blue jay, heron, crow, eagle, osprey
chick feathers
sand
stones
crab exoskeletons
coyote scat
barnacles
moss
a rabbit’s foot
cones
seaweed
lichen
pine needles
twigs
sage
a root tangle
bones
a butterfly and moth
snail shells
creatures’ teeth
a nest made of her hair
bark slabs
bark curls
seashells
a sand dollar
flowers
agates, and...
– a claw.
