This is an excerpt from what
I started to write for this blog today; I crafted two paragraphs that began to
bore the you-know-what out of me:
… is metaphorical; but it
also has tangible manifestations and effects that help us understand …
Though the idea I wanted
to offer is something about which I am passionate, I felt I was forcing it onto
the page one.cramped.word.at.a.time.
Then I
heard the thunder clap. I remembered that I had a quick outside chore to do,
and so I rushed out. The booming skies increased in intensity as
I completed my task. I looked up at the cloud patterns whose very shapes seemed
to shiver with the rumbles—and the next peal shook loose the conversation with
my writing partner from just a few hours ago:
… afraid that the writing will become stale, if …
… reluctantly discarding passages that I really
love because …
… just want to write what I want to write
the way I want to write it …
… what if this doesn’t end up being the book I thought
…
… my blog is the place where I get to write about …
And with that refreshment—the
exciting turn of calm to boom in nature—I returned to the page on my computer
so that I could change up what I’d begun typing onto this page.
With great earnestness, I
scrawl this message to you in my hastiest handwriting:
Write your passion across
the earth in your own way, in the words of your
choosing.
Write it … or dance, sing,
paint, storytell, strum, collage it …
