Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

What If Words Were

What if words were ...

... paint:  they'd slide wet and vibrant onto the canvas of meaning
... clay:  they'd hold the shape of the potter's hands, a cupped vessel for wounds ...
... wood:  they'd feel the lathe's rotation and swoon in delight at their transformation to new shape
... glass:  they’d let in light and glow in brilliant hues
... yarn:  they'd weave together into the most beautiful tapestry
... fabric:  they'd flow and be stitched - bringing healing to the sick
... paper:  they'd layer up into collaged experience, or lie flat and bound and potent
... leaves:  they'd rustle and change colors and bud and inspire
... photos:  they'd capture truth from time immemorial
