Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

Seventeen Blessings for a Pandemic Friday

May you bask in sunlight or shade, whichever most soothes you today.

May your body remain strong, healthy, limber, with stretched out expanses of painlessness.

May your loved ones hold you well.

May you discover a new and fascinating aspect of your inner life, one that you feel willing to explore.

May that tree or grass, bird or flower, soil, rock, water, or air outside your window whisper to you the message that will keep you steady today.

May your fears visit you only briefly - and may you find the courage to entertain them and dismiss them, as you have need.

May your heart beat well in the face of all that confronts you.

May your love for another who is sick or has passed away remind you of the cherished gift you are to others.

May a smile arrive to beam warmly down on you.

May the wind carry away what debilitates you or keeps you stuck.

May beauty enter into your space, perhaps something lovely that you have made yourself.

May sleep rejuvenate you.

May you have food that restores your strength.

May whatever comes unexpectedly into your day serve to refocus you on what is truly significant.

May the meaning you find in little tasks buoy you for the large, creative task ahead.

May you find an ocean of peace in a quiet corner.
