Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

Winter Holy Day Blessings

In this season of long nights search your depths for renewal, strength, courage, and the seed of hope. Reach deep within, sitting in the pitch black of three a.m., but hold the faith that this is not all. This murk is not the end; it is the process and part of the vital journey. It makes the light complete. Balance is wholeness. Darkness must have light; both are crucial for healing, for moving forward, for offering the best of ourselves. In the predawn dark this morning, the stormy wind through bamboo chimes wakened me and I felt gratitude for breath and life. Even as the rain fell, the miracle of peachy-pink sunrise emerged brightly in the east. I found my balance this morning.
