Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

Image of the Week

"It's a mandala," he said.   July 5, 2014 Oil Pastel   Created by Patrick
As he sat on the sidewalk in the downtown of a small city, the artist was surrounded by mandalic images he had created. In the center of his display stood a small donation can, against which was propped a sign: Disabled Man Making Art. When I introduced myself, reaching out to shake his hand before buying this piece of art, he crookedly stretched toward me with his left hand and heartily returned the introduction.
I got the better deal: a vivid mandala made by a man with physical limitations whose excellence lies in creative output and his ability to offer a radiant smile!
