Welcome!

Welcome! This is a place to share how we celebrate & deepen our relationship to Nature. Here you will find stories, images, & ideas about wilderness, human nature, & soulfulness. Drawing from the experiences of everyday living, the topics on this blog include: forays into the natural world, the writing life, community service, meditation, creativity, grief & loss, inspiration, & whatever else emerges from these. I invite you on this exploration of the wild within & outside of us: the inner/outer landscape.

Monday Musings NATURE PRACTICE: “Nature’s Calm”

TEALarbor stories’ Monday Musings are quotes, mantras, reveries, poems, & practices offering simple ways to explore the ecotone of the inner/outer landscape.

Go outside. Stand or sit still. Notice what is quiet or unmoving around you. Has the wind died down, the birds disappeared from sight, the snow or rain stopped falling? See if you can identify several things in nature that are motionless – seemingly calm. Carry the image of one or two of these calm nature bodies with you – as a photo on your phone, a word on a piece of paper, a memory in your heart. Remind yourself of nature’s capacity for calm and stillness when you begin to feel any stress. See how you can mirror nature’s calm.
