TEALarbor stories’ Monday Musings are
quotes, mantras, reveries, poems, & practices offering simple ways to
explore the ecotone of the inner/outer landscape.
I
wonder if this forest knows me?
The
great oaks shiver,
Their
leaves restless in the breeze
This
autumn day.
I can
smell the end of summer carried in the air.
Spring
flowers are no more,
And
the leaves hang golden and red
Awaiting
a wind with their name on it.
I
wonder if the oaks will remember
That
I walked upon a time amongst them?
That
my bare feet felt the pulse of their roots
And
my arms encircled their trunks?
And,
when my dying wind bears me away,
Will
my imprint remain upon Earth’s paths
So
that something of me is also born again
With
every new Spring?
