TEALarbor stories’ Monday Musings are quotes, poems, & practices
offering simple ways to explore the ecotone of the inner/outer landscape.
A fragment of bark
in butterfly-shape
on its brown, leathery face.
Ephemeral as a butterfly
time leaves its record
on the fluid skin
of our planet.
Bark and barnacles
crystals and chromosomes
display patterns, shapes, textures
and tell stories.

*Note: Annita attended my October 2015 Inner/Outer Landscape writing workshop. She chose a piece of bark from a selection of items from my backyard that we used as writing prompts. This is a reworked version of the poem she wrote based on that tree bark.
